Invest in You This Season


As the holidays approach we dream of special times with family and friends. Millions of people find themselves feeling disconnected and down during the holiday season due to unfulfilled expectations in life and relationships.

To enjoy yourself this season, INVEST IN YOU by choosing one thing each week that will increase your feelings of value, then do it. Select things that leave you feeling invigorated, happy and good.

Some ideas to put on your calendar:

  1. Do something nice for someone else

  2. Laugh more

  3. Eat nutritious foods that make you feel good in addition to treats in moderation. Focus on food that leaves you feeling great long term, not just the quick fix.

  4. Say “yes”

  5. Choose one day to celebrate you (e.g., your birth date; mine’s the 21st of the month)

  6. Try 1 minute of deep belly breathing (If you need coaching, you can download the Mindful app or watch an online video)

  7. Listen to music that lifts your spirits

  8. Spa day!

  9. Extend compassion to another

  10. Practice color therapy by coloring in a coloring book

  11. Find something that you enjoy doing by yourself then do it

  12. Make a new friend

  13. Stretch for 20 minutes

  14. List 3 things you are grateful for

  15. Try a new activity

  16. Spend some fun time with your pet

  17. Have courage and do that thing you’ve been afraid to do

  18. List 5 things you love about yourself

  19. Be a good listener

  20. Choose one character trait you want to strengthen then practice it

  21. Play an instrument

  22. Step out of your comfort zone – that’s where the magic happens!

  23. Take time to meditate and envision the future you want

  24. Share these ideas with others you know
